This CD is representative of the quiet, peaceful beauty of Gregorian Chants. The Benedictan order sings out the solitude of monastic life in it's chords and harmonies. Anyone who enjoys Gregorian Chants will certainly enjoy these pieces of music. It is great for a quiet evening at home or as a background for other events.

Beautiful, timeless and meditative. My 16 year old son loves it and wants to buy another Chant CD. Great background music for all day listening. Restores the mind and soul with calm serenity in the hectic lives we lead.

5Chant--The Benedictine Monks of Santo Domingo de SilosFeb 23, 2010
All was fine with the delivery time table (though a little slow, I thought), the cost, and the quality of the disk. The CD jewel case was cracked, but I didn't care because I would be putting the disk in a sleeve in a binder full of CDs. No biggie, no complaints. Will use this vendor again.

5Meditation is a breezeFeb 06, 2010
This addition to my Gregorian chants has made my meditation so much more peaceful and relaxing. If people used this as a stress reliever and in relaxation techniques it would make for a more peaceful and better world.

4A First Rate Gregorian Chant!Jan 17, 2010
I have to be honest the Benedictine Monks are an unlikely musical group. This compact disc collection features the music sung in Latin as it was originally sung in Gregorian Chant. Now, I don't know much about religious music or Gregorian chants. Yes, I did find the music to be both soothing and spiritual at the same time I felt like I was in a church or their monastary. It just seems unbelievable and unreal to have religious figures such as Monks make money through their music and maintain their religious dedication, dignity, and vows to their vocation. It's an admirable vocation to pray, sing, and live modestly in a monastary by practicing chastity, poverty, and obedience. I guess I'll never understand their lives as they probably don't understand mine.
