Lush and brilliant rendition of Four SeasonsJun 12, 2004
By Rachelle Ayala Not only does this CD include the Four Seasons concertos, but also 3 other violin concertos (including Il Sospetto, L'estro armonico No. 6, and La Stravaganza #5) making it a good value for the money. Perlman's style is warm, lush and brilliant, giving a more emotional rendition of Vivaldi, versus the usual austere clockwork interpretation. I rather enjoy the extra feeling and lushness that Perlman brings to Vivaldi. By the way, L'estro armonico #6 is familiar to many violin students as a student concerto, and listening to Perlman is very motivating.

Great CD chronicling Vivaldi's Four SeasonsDec 07, 2005
By Paul Mosier Having a taste for classical music led me to buy this particular CD and also being a fan of violin concertos. Despite my bias, I must say this version of the Four Seasons (with some other concertos) is for any who even likes to listen to music, much less of the classical genre. The London Philharmonic complement Itzhak Perlman splendidly. Overall, the value of the CD is amazing. You get 21 tracks. There were a few small miscues in the harmony, but they were few and far between; not to mention I am very critical of instrumentals. 9 out of 10.

Amazing price for an amazing CDJan 02, 2009
By LHG This recording of Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" with Itzhak Perlman at the violin is absolutely amazing! The tempos are not too fast, but not too slow, and Perlman plays with perfection and attention to detail. Also included are three more of Vivaldi's violin concertos, which shouldn't be missed!

"reading IS fundamental"
Four seasons is one of my favorite pieces. With Itzhak Perlman at the helm, this rendition is flawless as one would rightfully expect.

A beautiful Vivaldi recordingFeb 08, 2008

"Wiezy"
Itzhak Perlman plays the Four Seasons like no other violinist. The clarity and tone indicate a master violinist but the emotion and passion convey a sense of a message.
If you are looking for a great recording of the Four Seasons, pick this one up right away, as you will find the other violin concertos to be extremely enjoyable and well played.
It is a great staple recording to have.
