This is the real thingMay 22, 2005
By O. Gaede This is the product you will find on the grocery shelves in the supermarkets in South Africa. Having lived there for a number of years and traveling there frequently, I always try to bring back a couple of boxes of this. If you haven't tried Rooibos tea, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. It is a robust tea with no caffeine. Most people drink it hot with a little sweetner and maybe a little lemon, but it also makes a great iced tea.

Great South African teaAug 22, 2006
By bethgott I was brought up drinking this caffeine free tea at home in South Africa and now my sons enjoys it so much that I'm considering buying in bulk. He drinks it with soy milk and a little honey, and can't seem to get enough of it.
I'm just glad I'm able to get it here in the US now.
Buying it like this is also a much better deal than in some stores.

2 X 80 teabagsMar 08, 2011
By Theo van Wijk The description says 80 teabags (2 X Pack) so I was not sure if this was 2 X 40 or 2 X 80, turns out it's the latter. Thanks!

Herbal Deliciousness!Apr 25, 2009
By G. E. Williams

In the '70s there was an herbal tea that I really loved from South Africa, but then came the boycott of South African goods and I could never again find it. Recently I did some research and found that the tea was once again available (though not by the brand name I knew) by the actual name of the tea "Rooibos".
So I made an order through Amazon... and although the shipping price is a bit high for something so light in weight, I can't complain because the tea is even better than I remember it. For those who aren't familiar with Rooibos Tea, it is very similar to good Black tea in flavor, minus the bitter after taste and minus the caffeine and tannic acid, but with the anti-oxidants and other GOOD stuff. Refreshing and delicious stuff!

Stale teaJul 28, 2011

Although this tea is shown to be best by 13/10/11, it was prepared on 14/7/2010, which was over a year ago. I can see now why it was only $11 for 160 tea bags. The flavor of the tea seems dull compared to other Rooibos teas I have tried. I suspect it's stale. Buyer beware.
