5Galway, Marriner, and ASMF make Mozart meltingly beautifulApr 02, 2010
I expected this recording to be very good, and it has lived up to all of my standards. In fact, it surpassed them. Galway's flute playing bristles with life, and Marriner's conducting is a wonderful complement to Galway's playing. Too often, Mozart is simply made into non-descript background music. Not here. Rather, Mozart's music is made very exciting, yet at the same time, meltingly beautiful. I'm not a big Mozart fan, but I am very pleased with this album. If you want an album that will keep you awake but calm and relaxed at the same time, this album is a great choice.

5Ah, that flute!Feb 10, 2010
Wonderful! I like Mozart as a composer AND I like Galway as a performer. This particular album drew me because I have a son who is a flautist. I have often accompanied him (on piano) and we did the first movement of K299 for a solo competition. Truthfully I don't remember the year - it would have been in the late 1970's. He was in Junior High at the time. (He scored very high both at locals and district - needless to say I was a proud parent.)

5ExcellentFeb 06, 2010
It's great. I am not a musician so I wont comment on the execution, however I found this music relaxing, and the selection in this CD is specially great. I love the Concerto for Flute and Harp, K.299 above all.

5Heavenly MusicJan 05, 2010
The sound of this album is so heavenly that it is impossible to play it, even in the backgound, without remarking about the experience. The flute becomes a part of the overall magnificent sound.

5Beautiful Album!Apr 08, 2008
This is a wonderful addition to my classical collection, and recommend it to anyone who enjoys flute or harp. Can't imagine anyone being disappointed with this one.
