5Chakra simplifiedMay 23, 2008

I'm just beginning to learn about Chakras, energy work, and crystals. This was a very straight-forward explanation with colorful pictures; easy to read; easy to use. It probably isn't the best for those who are very knowledgeable about the subject, but for beginners or as a quick reference guide, I would recommend it.

This is a beautifully illustrated book with lots of color photos, charts and exercises. It has a wide variety of subjects such as crystal healing, different types of yoga, chakra balancing, reflexology, nutrition, spirituality, aromatherapy and many other topics. This is an excellent book to add to your home library.

52nd book I purchasedJun 30, 2008
By J. J. Hinkamp "Linda22"
I lead a class on the Chakras & am just completing a 8
months work on my Reiki Masters.

&nd the point is?
That is what I like about these guides.
(I purchased the Crystal, Feng Shui & Psychic Bibles.

I can find the information I am looking for easily.
The pictures & drawings are detailed enough to understand.
I'm sorry I did not discover these books, before I spent money,
on several other ones.

I plan on getting more in this series.

4Very detailed; more than intro levelSep 15, 2009
By S. Bertsch
This is a fabulous resource that covers more details about Chakras than I ever knew existed. This is the first learning tool about Chakras that I've purchased, and while I'm glad I have it, I also think I might want something a little more intro-level with brief overviews. I also wish the actual format had a spiral binding. The book is small & thick - handy size, but sometimes awkward to hold on to. I appreciate the details about related yoga positions and crystal & aroma therapies related to Chakras. Definitely worth the price.

5A Roadmap to Understanding and Balancing your ChakrasApr 02, 2010
By Becca Chopra
Allow me to tell you a little story to explain my appreciation for this book. Sarah, a young woman I came to know, first found out through newspaper headlines that her entire family had been washed away in the roiling mud of a jungle flood while she was away working as a tour guide and attending botanical healing classes in the capital city. Heart-scarred and down but definitely not out, she finished out her semester and received a student visa to start anew by continuing her education and life in Southern California.

There, she made a friend who eventually became her roommate and lover. But still, emptiness gnawed at Sarah's gut even when outwardly her life's puzzle seemed complete and ready for framing. Raised within a very strict, conservative religion, nonetheless or perhaps because of this stunted spiritual growth, Sarah assiduously practiced Hatha yoga and read every spiritual self-help guide the public library, Amazon.com and the bookstores carried, including The Chakra Bible.

Inside this book she found an encyclopedic collection of all things Chakra, from their history, definition and lineage as understood by the ancient Greeks, Chinese, Egyptians and Hindu practitioners to charts, diagrams and photos detailing body locations, physical, energetic and spiritual manifestations of imbalanced chakras and their converse, active and free-flowing wheels of light that fuel the warmth of our days. She read of various methods for balancing the chakras using relaxation and meditation, aromatherapy, diet, reflexology, color therapy, massage, crystal, and sound therapy. Blushing yet gushing with anticipation when she told me, Sarah said that following the gentle yet delicious urging of The Chakra Bible, she even began a practice of tantric yoga and kundalini energy release.

Seeing how useful the book had been to Sarah, I added The Chakra Bible to my own large collection of books on chakra balancing and holistic healing. I encourage you to also make this book a bookend of your studies on spiritual enlightenment. Perhaps a beginning if you are just starting your quest and looking for a road map or, if you have been on that journey for a while, a work that may fill in some of the missing blanks. Although it probably does not contain any info not found in dozens of other books, I found The Chakra Bible to be easy-to-read, very informative, hand-sized and beautifully illustrated. Mine accompanies me to the gym, lessens the pain of airport waits, serves-up lunchtime inspiration or just serves as a comfort as it sits on the shelf, a ready resource that I can count on to help me on my path. Namaste! Becca Chopra, author of The Chakra Diaries
