More kneeling poses?Jan 08, 2010 Great book, but I would have liked to see more kneeling poses beyond the basic Cat/Dog, Camel. It's a great reference book for all of the reasons that previous reviewers cited, but as a surfer and jiu jitsu practicioner, I like to incorporate kneeling poses into my routines as transitions from standing to prone and supine, since in both activities there is a lot of transitioning from the ground (or board) to standing. No variations were to be found, and as important as these are to yoga and other types of bodyweight exercises, I thought it was a pretty surprising oversight. In my local, community center yoga class, the instructor usually includes a few variations of kneeling poses; knee to head, arm/leg outstretched, holding one leg, etc, and I find these very helpful for balance and strength. Otherwise, a great reference book with really helpful photos.
Tons of poses!May 23, 2009 I got this hoping to create my own workout...but...I would have to keep flipping to the page to remember. Anyway that's beside the point that this book is amazing.
J. M.Apr 13, 2009 I was looking for a book with simple straight forward pictures and descriptions of what Yoga is, and I found it in this book. Direct and clear.
Yoga BibleApr 04, 2009 This book is great at any level and it lets you know that you just need to try these moves but don't have to do them exactly how they are shown. Everyone will do what they can the idea is to just start doing them.It is well put together and the photography is also well done. The descriptions make it so you will get out of it what you should.
The Yoga BibleMar 26, 2009 Every yoga posture you know and don't know is in this book. You will want to carry it with you every where you go. I am very happy with this book. Love It!
